I have one bedroom opening up in a beautiful five bedroom character house near the Mayfair area for August 1st and another, larger bedroom for September 1st at $715 due to university transfers. Female preferred to share the upstairs and bathroom with the same. In the past, I have subletted out the 2 upstairs rooms to short-term international students but am looking for an arrangement that's more reliable and longer term as utility bills I this large, 1930's character house can be a little daunting. Rent includes onsite laundry, sewer, water, hydro, heat, garbage collection, gas and fiberoptic wifi. The room comes furnished but i can move things around to accommodate if you have your own stuff. We also have tons of storage in the full unfinished basement for boxes and bicycles. This big house has a great kitchen with a gas range and hot water on demand so there are never cold suprises or line ups when running hot water in any of our three bathrooms. The upstairs bathroom has also been recently renovated with new flooring, plumbing and paint. There's a large back deck and decent sized yard perfect for gardening opportunities or stringing out a hammock to nap under the small orchard of fruit trees. We are located just a one minute walk to the #8 bus route servicing both camosun college campuses as well as Hillside and Mayfair shopping districts. The #6 Quadra bus is also a stone's throw away and runs regularly for service downtown or Royal Oak. Im in my thirties, have a dog and daughter, 7 and 6 respectively, who share the back of the house with me. We don't mind noise and realize a busy house is a happy home. House guests are welcome and the occasional gathering with a little heads up is totally manageable. Preference given to longer term stays and people who are accustomed to living in shared kitchen living arrangements. Household chores are shared so I hope you're not afraid of a mop bucket! As rent is tied to utilities, no couples or room shares please. References required so please have them handy
