This item is an outstanding instance of the sterling silver overlay work of the Hopi Indians of the SW United States. This kind of silver job started in the 1930's and was restored under the GI Costs after WW2.

It is a hollow, double sided, convex silver pendent on a hand-crafted chain. One side has the traditional Bear Clan sign, the reverse is the standard Guy in the Labyrinth figure.
