Looking for a mature student roommate to share my bright 2-bed, 1 bath house in the Oaklands neighbourhood near Hillside Mall. September 1 move-in, during August available too.
About the space: It is the master bedroom with full double closet. It is fully furnished with an open concept living room and separate study space. Shared bathroom but has jack and jill sink/vanity. Gas fireplace, kitchen with stainless steel appliances and dishwasher. Washer and dryer. South facing deck just off the kitchen/tv room that has private fenced yard.
A location that couldn't be any more perfect for a student going to UVic or Camosun (Landsdowne): right off Hillside Ave just around the corner from the #4 Bus to Uvic/Camosun or downtown. On-street parking only.
About me: I'm 40s, M, clean, and considerate. I work (8 am - 4 pm M-F) but I am up before 6 am to walk my dog. The dog is adult DoodIe who enjoys dog people. I am pretty quiet during the week (work, yard work, gym, sleep, repeat). Like to have a good time watching hockey, but this isn't a party house... so if that's your thing, we'd probably drive each other crazy.
About you: You're 20ish-40ish years old, M or F, and you don't smoke. You're moving alone (no significant others, small < 30 pound dog may tag along add $50 - if my dog approves of them). You will not have a cat(s) (because I am allergic).You're house proud, clean, and tidy... and you'll treat the space as if it were their own (because well, it kind of is!). You're nice and easy-going, you like to laugh, and you're considerate and self-aware. Down to share the occasional drink or dinner if we're both home, but also respectful of us needing our own space/time.
Rent is $800/month including utilities and internet. September to December, but longer-term stays are welcome if the situation is right for both. Students and working professionals welcome.
Rental/student/employment references will be requested.
Damage deposit required worth one half month's rent.
