I am an early thirties female professional, seeking a female professional or mature student as a roommate for end of July or August 1st- or potentially Sept 1. Private room in Ground floor open-concept 2 bedroom suite, 775/month + utilities. Eco-friendly household. Absolutely no scented candles, aromatherapy, incense, or air freshener in the suite though. (I have a perfume allergy) The landlords don't allow smoking, of any type, on the property.
Room could be furnished with a bed for short term rental.
Location in Vic West, close to neighbourhood bakery and cafe, (Spiral Cafe) Banfield park, the Galloping Goose which takes you straight downtown, and is walking distance to grocery, hardware store, post office, restaurants, and a gym. On transit routes. Lovely, walkable neighbourhood, and 30 min walk (10 minute bike ride) to downtown along the gorge.
Suite itself is a comfortable open concept, with large kitchen/dining island/ counter space. Has a small but lovely patio with a BBQ and a backyard garden complete with a lively bee hive. Suite has In-suite laundry, one bathroom, Dishwasher, flat-top stove. Street parking. Storage available in the suite including room to store a bike.
The one downside is that there is a bit of noise from the upstairs- there being 2 children living above, and no carpeting in the upstairs suite. This is only usually an issue during the day- they keep a normal schedule and are not disruptive overnight. Shouldn't be too much of a problem if you're at work or school most days, but you should be aware of it before you decide to move in.
I am pretty quiet and would like to find a quiet, respectful roommate. I am a bit of a homebody these days, though I am usually pretty outdoorsy and like to hike and go camping. I enjoy to cook and do a bit of preserving in the fall and will sometimes have a canning or sewing project going on. I do have the occasional friend over for a BBQ, dinner party, or afternoon on the patio, and would expect you to do the same, if you liked.
