Seeking a female roommate, young professional like me or a student. I'm a single, 31-year-old high school English lit teacher who loves to travel, so there are plenty of books around and I'm always saving up for my next trip. I work pretty long hours then tend to crash at home, so I keep the home front pretty chill and want a roommate who's also into that vibe.
I spent a month renovating the condo before moving in, so all 1000 square feet have fresh smooth ceilings, new white paint, new laminate floors, and new crystal lighting. The main living area includes a generous kitchen, open to the living room which has a gas fireplace, plus a flex room for dining and tv, and a wrap-around balcony facing south-west. Your room measures 9'9" x 11'7", not including the closet, and with some clever planters we could make part of the balcony private for you. There's in-suite laundry, and are two washrooms (full shower/bath) so you'll have the front one to yourself.
Location is fantastically central but without the downtown noise; ideal for someone who wants to walk downtown, or commute to Oak Bay, and is close to the hospital for nurses. It's an easy 15 minute walk to downtown (or 20 to inner harbour area), close to The Market on Yates and Cobbs Bread for groceries, or to the Fernwood Inn and Belfry Theatre the other way. Busses 2, 3, 27, and 28 run on Johnson and the adjacent two streets - Pandora and Yates - but there are tons of bus routes in walking distance since we're essentially downtown. For UVic, you can take the 14 on Fort Street, a 5-7 minute walk from our front door and a total 30 minutes to UVic in the morning. Great for anyone looking to live car-free, but there is otherwise tons of free on-street parking.
