The U.S. vs John Lennon (DVD) used (The Beatles) in Victoria, British Columbia for sale

Movies & Music
$5

It's a well made film that documents Lennon's history as a social activist and commentator. Using his celebrity status and working the media (instead of being worked by the media) to get his messages across to the fans and public, Lennon was viewed as a possible threat by the Nixon administration. This is because the voting age was being lowered to 18 and the younger generation had grown up being Beatles fans. Lennon was prone to speaking his mind on issues (albeit not always before thinking things through) and getting passionately involved. After the breakup of the Beatles, it's notable that all of Lennon's live performances were for causes he believed in.
The film focuses mostly on Lennon's post Beatles years, although it flashes back to controversies during the Beatles era s well (ex. Lennon's comments on the Beatles being more popular than Christ). John and Yoko became activists for causes they believed in and used their status to help promote these causes.
The bonus features contains a number of extended interviews not seen in the main feature. It is a worthy film to own and does a good job of painting a picture of the times (1970-1976).
