Feeling the gas pinch? Buy my Vespa!
I have a 2007 Vespa GTS250ie that I purchased this summer from S.G. Power, second-hand. It's a brilliant way to get around. You need a Class 6 license, but as a result, you're looking at a machine that does 140km/h with a passenger. It's extremely nippy in city traffic, is fuel injected so it runs great whether it's 5 or 35 degrees out, and is liquid-cooled, like your car, which means the engine will easily last 100,000kms or more. I've averaged 3.3L/100kms, or 72mpg over 2200kms of riding. Which means the gas to ride 2200kms, even at these prices, only cost me $110.
After I bought it, the oil was changed (and is thus good for 10,000kms), the clutch bell was cleaned and serviced, the coolant was topped off, and it got a brand new set of Michelin CityGrip tires. This cost me $600 when all said and done, but it rides and runs like it's new. It's only got 11,000kms on it. There are small scratches on the right hand side, as the first/previous owner dropped it once, but from a distance you can't really tell.
I can't keep it due to the financial demands of university. Thought I could manage it, but no dice. I paid $4000 for it in the summer, and am willing to sell it for the same price (which means I take a $600 loss on the service and bits). Not willing to ship, you must pick up in Victoria. Cash or certified cheque will do for payment. Negotiable price if you're also a student or in dire financial straits, otherwise, price is firm.
I've got two white full-face Icon helmets in medium, and a half-head helmet, all of which can go with the bike if you buy it for the advertised price.
