The incumbent in this position is expected to assist the Victoria Conference Centre in achieving its vision and mission. Customer focus, cleaning service, and a willingness to assist as needed are expectations for all employees.
The Conference Centre Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for ensuring all meeting rooms pre-function and service areas are cleaned and maintained to the highest standard. Serves the needs of the client before, during the meeting and maintains the order and cleanliness of the facility.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
1. Cleaning and maintaining all areas of the Victoria Conference Centre
2. Ability to work effectively as a member of a group or as an individual
3. Maintain the standards of the company in regards to cleaning
4. Ability to prioritize tasks
5. Consistent communication with Victoria Conference Centre operational staff
6. Ability to work various shifts including days evenings, nights and weekends
7. Ability to multi-task
8. WHMIS TRAINING an asset but not required
9. First Aid training an asset but not required
Direction Received: reports to Executive Housekeeping Supervisor, Victoria Conference Centre
High School diploma is required. Minimum of one year experience in hospitality, customer service or related field. Similar experience in a customer service environment preferred. Ideal candidate can work a flexible schedule. Must have a RCMP security clearance.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Work Characteristics
· Ability to lift and maneuver light conference furnishings
· Must have good customer service skills
· Standing and walking for long periods of time
· Bending, reaching and kneeling
· Must be familiar with use of equipment and cleaning agents
· Must be familiar with content and location of material safety data sheets

Location: Downtown Victoria
Compensation: to be negotiated
