The Daily Times Colonist Cookbook - $1234 in Victoria, British Columbia for sale

This is an old cookbook, printed before the construction of the chapel at the Memorial Pavilion on Richmond Rd. At the time, the building was called Veteran's Hospital. This book was compiled by the Women's Auxiliary to the Veteran's Hospital and the entire net proceeds fom the sale of these books were used to further the comfort and happiness of patients at the veteran's Hospital.

The Daily Colonist published the books and some of the recipes were originally printed in the newspaper from readers and other recipes were collected from local women by the Auxiliary.

Most recipes have a notation that names the person that provided them but not all of them do.

The book is 112 pages, measures 6 inches by 8 inches and is in not bad condition. Has not been used very much, has some discolouring on the jacket and the rear jacket page needs to be glued again properly. The inner pages look as if new.
