1988 Toyota Camry! Served me well for in the winter while I worked on the edge of town. Took it off the road since I got a new job downtown and switched to walking/biking.
For most of it's life it was grandma-owned operated and only accumulated 150,000km over a 17 year period. Engine appears to be in great shape, as well as the battery and electrical. The fuel pump could use a look, as it occasionally keeps the engine from starting on the first try, though I can always get it going. All-season tires have loads of tred. Handles well on the side streets and highway. Brake pads could use the usual replacement, which of course is an easy fix. Worked phenomenally for me as a commuter. Send it for a tune-up or swap those parts yourself and you'll have a perfect island car for under $1,000. I'm not looking to reinvest in a car so I'm happy to part with it for a small return.
