Ta'Aroa is a Hanna "Carol" ketch built in 1952 in North Vancouver of cedar on oak planking. 38' on deck and about 45' overall with the bowsprit. BMC Commodore diesel engine, 50 hp. Suit of sails, mizzen, genoa, jib and main - old, but still usable. A nice doghouse to stay out of the rain under. Interior is a main cabin with table, two bunks and "office" corner. More or less double bed up forward with hanging locker, flat screen 32" tv and lots of book/DVD shelves and a cupboard. Galley with a wonderful Swedish alcohol non-pressurized stove and a toaster oven and ice box. Other side is the head with toilet, sink and shower. No hot water installed yet. A nice little cast iron wood stove to warm the winter nights as well as an oil filled 110 volt heater. 12 bottle wine cellar and a liquor cabinet. I live on-board in a great marina in Victoria, B.C. and pay only around $500 a month including power, water and wifi. Completely rebuilt from the hull up and out over the past 12 years or so, only the hull is from 1952, the rest is new. New masts and spars, wormed, parcelled and served galvanized steel rigging, an electric anchor winch and two anchors. ratlines up to a crow'snest on the main (I'm still installing them so while made only half are in place. She is not yet complete since I still have work to do - hard when living aboard - but nothing major, mostly cupboard doors, hot water system, sail covers and so on. She is a great, warm, comfortable live-aboard for one or two people with the potential of being also a stable, safe, comfortable sailor. A bit old for offshore work, but fine for BC waters.
