Sail Training potential for the vessel is significant. Owner built this classic Colvin Tamarack schooner, launched in 1992, and sailed it in the Great Lakes of Canada, down the Eastern seaboard to Key West and Cuba and, since 2001, out of Victoria in the Straight of Juan De Fuca and our Gulf Islands cruising area. Hull and topsides recently maintained and repainted, zinced and now ready to go cruising again. Great live-aboard for ten years, she has bunks for up to eight persons. Her hull has double chine, full keel construction, plated with ten gauge, corrosion resistant, Corten steel. The hull specs are LOD 34’7”, LWL 28’9", Beam 10’7”, Gross Tons 9.4, Net Registered Tons 8.69; draft 4'9" aft. This is a traditional coasting schooner hull, great for gunkholing, but very capable of offshore work as well. The sail inventory includes a large, new, loose-footed, Gollywobbler setting balanced on the CLR in the whole area between the fore and main masts, so 1 person can sail this schooner with only the Golly. All sails are Dacron, professionally made to order. This vessel has exceptional directional stability and slight weather helm close hauled/reaching, making her easy on the helm. Her aux engine is a Yanmar 3JH3E (40 horsepower) Diesel, installed new in 2001. It has only 405 running hours on the clock, and delivers a cruising speed of 6kn at 2500rpm (3/4 throttle). A full specs and equipment inventory document is available plus Video files. This vessel is currently in my boatyard and ready for your out-of-water survey.
