In excellent condition, this marine scene from Charles Taylor Jnr., bears no visible signature as to its artist; rather, the identification has been provided from parchment found glued to the back of the frame, indicating price and date of purchase, but, most importantly, the artist and his subject matter.
Charles Taylor Junior exhibited his works from 1841-1883, with the main body of his work on display at The Royal Institute of Watercolour Painters between 1843 and 1866.
