A rare opportunity to own a stunning piece of Carole's early works titled "Reflected". It is 15 ½"x 30 ½" in excellent condition for it's age. A bright orange, red and pink sun is reflected in a turquoise silk 'sea'. It's a real 'eye-catcher' and a fun piece to enjoy on your wall. Signed on the back ....Carole Sabiston... Carole Sabiston is an award-winning textile and mixed-media artist who works in large-scale wall hangings and banners, as well as sculpture and theatre design. Her work has been commissioned, both publically and privately throughout North America and Europe; and the US. Carole is a member of the Limners Group of Artists.
In 1987 Carole was elected to the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts, and received Canada's highest award in applied-arts design, the Saidye Bronfman Award for Excellence. In 1992 she was awarded the Order for British Columbia, the Queen's Jubilee Medal, and the 125th Canada Medal. In 1995 Carole was the recipient of an Honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts from the University of Victoria and in 2012 she received the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal.
