John Hammond. A great admirer of the painters of the French Barbizon and Dutch Hague schools, Canadian painter John Hammond was best known for his landscapes and marines (or paysages de mer - landscapes of the sea) depicting the Bay of Fundy. Hammond was born in Montreal.

The painting is titled on back. painted on board with a period frame that I estimate done in the 1915 period, I bought this as an investment to resell, you can see online I paid 2.300 years ago out of Halifax.
