Acrylic painting on board, framed behind glass. Signed by Vancouver Island artist, J. Slagboom (Jill). - Titled on verso, "Esquimalt Lagoon".
This oil painting framed behind glass is in nice condition, signed in the lower right hand corner by the artist, J. Slagboom (Jill) and titled on the reverse "Esquimalt Lagoon".
Jill Slagboom was born in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. She majored in Art when in High School and continued her studies in the commercial art and graphic design field in Vancouver and Toronto. Jill was influenced by, and has studied with, such well-known artists as Herb Siebner, Kay Ratcliffe, Nancy O'Toole, and Bill West.
Jill's work is unique in that she has developed a three-dimensional approach using a combination of painting and monotype to achieve realistic beach scenes and landscape effects. Using both, acrylic painting and Additive Mono-printing techniques, Jill creates realism and depth into her works.
This nicely done, wonderful west coast Canadian scene would make a very nice addition any living space.
Measurements are 17 inches in height x 21 inches in width.
Unframed measurements are 9.5 inches in height x 13.5 inches in width.
